The food was excellent, and the service felt very personal. The atmosphere is enjoyable too, but make sure to book a reservation since the space isn't very large. I highly recommend the penne pasta with chicken or the fried chicken with pan gravy. View all feedback.
What Paul L doesn't like about The Mighty Oak Barrel:
My wife and I visited this restaurant on a Friday evening. It's located on a side street in Oakmont, and parking is quite scarce. We ended up driving around the block a few times before finally finding a spot... View all feedback.
I hadn?t been to the Mighty Oak Barrel for over 6 years and was delighted with the quality of the food and the personal service. Reservations are a must as the community knows about this place and supports it. The atmosphere is bustling and friendly. Special kudos to the owner/chef Michael Flowers for the best salmon I?ve ever had. I?d pay for a lesson to cook it like him. Highly recommended.
Everything was excellent for our party of six. Service, food, portions, value all wonderful. Make reservations! So many turned away who did not have them.
We started with the fried calamari, which was extra crispy and paired perfectly with the Thai chili sauce. The mushroom ravioli was creamy, with al dente pasta that was a delight to savor. The linguini with shrimp and scallops in garlic Alfredo sauce was incredibly fresh, making each bite truly enjoyable. We will definitely be coming back!

I've lived in the Oakmont/Verona area for over 15 years and had never visited this restaurant until this weekend. My husband and I enjoyed a fantastic meal, accompanied by friendly and prompt service. I truly appreciate the small-town atmosphere. We returned later in the week to savor a classic Pittsburgh steak salad and gnocchi Bolognese. Both dishes were excellent!
