I was staying at an Airbnb nearby and walked to The Terrace for breakfast. It operates as half service, where food is ordered and then brought to your table via number. I had a large hot latte and a vegetable burrito (egg, spinach, mushrooms, and cheddar cheese). The latte came first, was fresh and hot (I needed to let it cool before drinking). Great foam and flavor. The burrito was hot and fresh as well and deliciou... View all feedback.
I haven 't had a salad this good in a very long time. I hope if it 's a seasonal salad, they replace it with something just as good, because, Yum. The coffee isn 't the best in Oakland, but it 's serviceable. It seems to be pretty packed often, so don 't be surprised to wait for a table to open up. As such, DO NOT expect to be able to park yourself and work on a computer inside here. There are large signs posted everywhere saying No computers!! Which I somewhat understand, but I don 't see the harm if it 's not busy. It seems like people should be able to use responsible freedom on that, but....I digress...Wheelchair accessibility: Definitely not accessible. There are several steps and narrow doorways to navigate.
My favorite place!Great food and relaxing atmosphere
Used to absolutely adore this cafe for a light lunch while catching up on emails, the pear salad used to be amazing. I recently returned after a few years and was disappointed to find the cute gift shop element has been removed and replaced with strange decor.I ordered the pear salad and when it arrived we were reminded (at 2:35) that they’d be closing at 3; understandable but a bit unnecessary. The salad has really gone downhill mixture of romaine and arugula with both Caesar dressing and balsamic? The bread used to be grilled and delicious and was instead under toasted with half spread, half melted garlic butter. Precisely at 3 they reminded every table that they were closing. They’ve also added somewhat intense signs saying no computers allowed, but they are allowed in a tent in the parking lot, as if using a laptop at a cafe is a punishment weird.Just not quite what it used to be, but the Italian wedding soup was good.
Lovely gift shop and fabulous fresh breakfast and lunch choices.Food: 5/5
What a hidden gem nestled in the hills of Piedmont! This chic coffee and gift shop, owned by a husband-and-wife team, offers not only delightful beverages but also some lovely bistro options, particularly their Liège waffles. The ambiance feels like a charming French café, creating a relaxing atmosphere. I can't praise this place enough; it's truly an outstanding experience!
