Taquería El Paisa - Oakland

You would have to travel to Mexico to find a place more authentic than this one. It truly deserves its Bib Gourmand recognition, even though it's located in a rough neighborhood and the atmosphere isn't the best. We ordered six tacos filled with nopales and onions, and every single one was delicious. The salsas were incredible—seriously, they were outstanding. We're going back today!

The exterior and the surrounding neighborhood might be misleading, but the tacos here are outstanding. There's complimentary parking available, and the interior has a festive vibe. The tacos are priced the same regardless of the meat, and the toppings like nopales and avocado are generously piled on.

Every taco we tried was delicious, with the pollo and cabeza being the standout favorites. The green salsa was exceptional—truly one of the best I've ever tasted, and it had a nice kick to it. The agua fresca was a bit too sweet for my taste, but it still had a delightful flavor. Overall, it was a great experience!

Real deal food. They have tons of meat options. Suadero and al pastor tacos are my top picks. Salsa bar is hella good and by the looks of the massive pot on their back range cooking various meats you know it's gonna hit. Come here for the fire

The ambiance is very nice and the food is always served in big portions. This restaurant has a subway like service that allows you to pay and be served as quickly as possible. The prices are a bit high but the portion size and quality make up for it. Definitely recommend this place for people that want some quick and delicious Mexican food.
