I, being of Vietnamese descent, appreciate the flavors and broth they use at this restaurant! My boyfriend ordered the hột bò Huế (which I believe is called Spicy Pho on the menu) and I actually preferred it over my own pho. The broth in my pho was good, but there was too much noodles compared to the amount of vegetables and meat. Updated review as of January 6, 2022. View all feedback.
What Sue F doesn't like about Pho Huong Que:
If you're looking for a Vietnamese restaurant that's a hole in the wall, this a place you to check out. We came here on a Sunday evening and the place was packed. We had to seat ourselves because the one server was taking orders at the register. This place can run more smoothly if they had a better system. All the workers were running around like a chicken with their heads cut off Overall, the food was great! I would... View all feedback.

The grilled chicken is my go to here. It has a slightly sweet smoky taste that is fairly addicting. I think in general they do meat well. They also give a decent portion for a decent price. Chicken vermicelli bowl : really good Chicken over rice: also very good. The rice reminds me of couscous Pork chop over rice: tasty Imperial rolls: this was a miss for us. The filling was too mushy and bland Chicken pho: wasn't a fan, but I'm very particular about my pho broth. I don't like it when its sweet. I think for most people tho this would taste fine. They have a tiny parking lot and its within walking distance from lake merritt. Its a local neighborhood place that I wouldn't go out of my way for, but if you're around the lake, would suggest giving it a try. I've only ordered takeout from here, but will say that they don't always answer their phone especially on Sundays when they are very busy. Hasn't stopped me from coming here.
The pho here hits! My love for pho started my freshman year of college in SD and it's only grown stronger. For the most part, I'm not that picky about my pho. I usually always leave satisfied, and this place did not disappoint. They serve you with hot tea while you wait and that was great on such a cold day. The couple that run this place are nice and attentive. As someone who was just visiting, I got exactly what I wanted. It's a small shop, go give them your money it's gooood
Authentic and great quality Viet food at reasonable prices. As a Viet food connoisseur, this place meets the mark for Viet noodle dishes in the USAs, short of going to San Jose or Houston. The soup is the most important and their soup tasted flavorful without a MSG aftertaste and thirst. Their meat and seafood were expertly sliced and fresh tasting. They use real fresh Viet herbs which make a big difference for an authentic taste. They have extensive VEGETARIAN menu. Most important very clean and the owner (super nice guy) is onsite. Their Owner supervision shows in the quality of food and attentive preparation. And their house made fresh thai chili garlic sauce is the BEST! Two thumbs up. Support your local small business. They really need your help to survive the pandemic.
Not really a Pho person but this is the Best Pho ever! my family's go-to. They are so nice to us, so nice to our baby when we come. Even when we take it to-go, it's so good our orders are always done right.
