Contribute FeedbackPizzaiolo has become a polarizing dining experience, showcasing both culinary prowess and service shortcomings. While many praise the well-prepared dishes and the diverse cocktail menu, frustrations arise over inattentive service and inconsistent food quality. Some diners have noted a decline in pizza flavor and portion sizes, coupled with overpriced wine offerings. However, loyal patrons appreciate the warm ambiance and accommodating staff, particularly highlighting their kindness to families. Despite mixed reviews, Pizzaiolo continues to attract visitors with its fresh ingredients and inviting atmosphere, making it a nostalgic favorite for some and a source of disappointment for others.
We absolutely love Pizzaiolo in Oakland! The food, music, and atmosphere are always fantastic.
I absolutely adore Pizzaiolo! The food is incredible and they are constantly introducing new dishes to the menu. We brought our 3-year-old and they were very accommodating, with other families also dining at the restaurant. I only wish they accepted reservations more frequently!
My partner and I went to this restaurant on Valentine's Day and it was really busy, especially with many walk-in customers. The hostesses managed the crowd well and we were seated in about 15 minutes. The service was overall good, but we didn't have the opportunity to order another drink because our server didn't check on us frequently. The food was fantastic, especially the pappardelle with pork ragu - I highly recommend it!
Food was amazing!! Everything was perfection. My only complaint was that our server seemed peeved that we’re weren’t ordering alcohol and was pretty short none present after that. Which in 2024 is pretty lame. We ordered 5 dishes and dessert. But again food was delicious- especially the chicken!
Pizzaiolo has never cared about customer comfort. The lightning is so dim you need your iPhone flashlight, the music volume is set above conversation level, the seats are uncomfortable and the place was boiling hot with little ventilation. Most of the food was very good but they sent out an underdone pizza, which we sent back. If you’re older, Pizzaiolo is an unfriendly venue. But most of the crowd is young and, frankly, will take whatever punishment the restaurant gives them. You know, cause it’s so, so hip.
