What Wendell Nikolaus likes about Osmanthus:
The tea leaf salad, and mango salad were amazing as were the short ribs. The only dish we didn’t love was chicken because it was a little chewy, but still delicious. Would come back! View all feedback. What Vernie O'Hara doesn't like about Osmanthus:
Made a reservation on open table and when we showed up for dinner the place was CLOSED! Had to walk around in the rain on a Friday with some business associates and find a place to eat and talk. Business phone number listed is disconnected and no signs on door indicate why they were closed. Is it just for one night, forever, only Friday’s? I DONT KNOW!!!! View all feedback.

I've been here like 5 times in two years and it's always greatThe service, the food, the drinks--always always the best.
Nice little spot to sit outside with your dog although I think they could have better business if they promoted the outdoor area more.
A nice selection of shareable small plates - the roasted brussel sprouts with bacon and balsamic are really good - probably the best I've ever had and a
Fine seafood with a Mexican twist. Good service adds to the meal. Convenient east mid town location. Worth the typical pricey NY cost.
Amazing!! The sangria and seafood dish with the cilantro rice was so good.

read moreOsmanthus, an upscale mixed-Asian restaurant in Oakland, has been a favorite for many over the years. However, recent changes in ownership seemed to have impacted the quality and ambiance for some patrons. While the food is generally good, the service and overall experience can be hit or miss. Some customers have complained about the noisy atmosphere and lackluster service, while others have praised the delicious dishes and attentive waitstaff. It seems that Osmanthus may be going through a transition period, with some hoping for improvements while others are hesitant to return. Despite the mixed reviews, the restaurant continues to attract diners with its flavorful Asian cuisine and trendy ambiance.
