What Hayley Powers doesn't like about Mother Tongue Cafe:
I really wanted to like this place. I would rate it higher if it just did coffee and morning stuff, but the late night thing they have…they just do not have it nailed. I appreciate the style they’re goin for, but they didn’t lean into it enough and the space feels unfinished and the memory of the Lede (the business it replaced) lingers heavily. The shop has plenty of outdoor and indoor seating, and the clientele is really nice, which surprised me most places can’t select for clientele but I was happy to be surrounded by people who also seemed to be in a good mood!
