I have been enjoying a lot of Korean food lately! I've been watching so many Korean dramas and admiring the actors and actresses on the show. It's so much fun! I especially love jajamyeon (black bean paste noodles with pork and vegetables) and jjampong (spicy seafood noodle soup). The Gangnam restaurant in Oakland serves these dishes very well and even combines them into one delicious meal! And of course, I can never... View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Gangnam Jajang:
New business (used to be Koryo Jajang up until Dec 2021), new owner, new interior (very nice and modern compared to old ghetto tables chairs) and a very similar menu. The honey cheese fried chicken was amazing. The batter was perfectly crisp. It was both yummy and delicious. Now the bad part, the Jajang was too runny, wasn't flavorful (no black bean ompf to it nor umami), did have salt but not in a complimenting way.... View all feedback.
I absolutely love their jajangmyeon, and the next day I tried the spicy rice cake topped with melted cheese and ice.
We went to this sushi restaurant late at night and it was decent for being open so late. We got there around 12:40am and were told they were taking last orders, so don't go too close to 1am. The food was pretty good overall, but the tempura seemed old and stale, and the scallop nigiri wasn't fresh. The decor was really cool though, with anime-themed decorations like Totoro and Kiki's Delivery Service. It was a fun atmosphere!
The food at this restaurant is consistently amazing! I have been coming here for just over a year now and have never been disappointed. The Tang-Soo-Yuk is perfectly crispy with a wonderful sweet and savory sauce. My favorite popcorn chicken flavor is the soy garlic, which is sweet, salty, and has a great garlic flavor. The Gan-Ja-Jang is also a favorite of mine with its less juicy but still juicy texture. I love dipping the Fried Dumplings in the black bean sauce - it's like food heaven!
I can't say enough about this restaurant! I've ordered from here over 5 times now, and their jjajang Myeon and tangsooyuk combo were amazing! It's my go-to comfort Korean food. The dishes were neatly packaged in separate containers, and the tang-soo-yuk portions were generous - I had enough for three meals! The tang-soo sauce had the perfect balance of sweet and sour, with plenty of veggies mixed in. The Myeon was cooked perfectly, not too soggy.
The portions are large at this restaurant. Even if you request medium spiciness, it is still very intense. It is best to stick to mild spiciness! LOL
