Diggery Inn - Oakland
Diggery Inn
Description
Tucked into Park Blvd, Diggery Inn is a cozy, family‑run breakfast and lunch staple known for fresh‑baked biscuits, waffles, French toast, generous scrambles and hearty portions. Regulars praise the warm, neighborhood atmosphere, friendly staff, indoor/outdoor seating and laptop‑friendly calm. Drawbacks include occasional service hiccups—mobile order delays, uneven food temperature, menu timing limits (fries before 11am)—and inconsistent omelet preparation. With better consistency and value alignment, this comforting spot could easily strengthen its beloved local reputation.

The Good: This place has excellent food! The tuna sandwich was phenomenal and the eggs benny were pretty good! The coffee is fresh, hot, and delicious. Service was quick, and the food came out exactly on time. The ambiance is pretty good, with decent decor and clean surfaces. The bad: The service is... mixed. The waitstaff are not very outgoing but that's hardly a concern. They do check to make sure things are in stock and that means a lot. The ugly: Breakfast ran $50 for 2, so it's not cheap eats. But for a special treat, totally worth it! The Diggery Inn is fantastic! I absolutely love this spot for breakfast and lunch, and I've been coming here for 18 years. Whenever I visit for breakfast, I always order one of their hearty scramble plates. They also serve amazing burgers. All the meals come in generous portions. You can choose to sit indoors or outdoors, which is nice. It's a family-owned restaurant, with Paula cooking on the grill and Nary serving customers front-of-house. They are wonderful and very friendly people. I highly recommend the Diggery Inn!
Solid neighborhood place, with all of your favorite brunch options done well, plus warm staff. We walzed right in at 10am on a Saturday and got a table for six with zero wait. I had the pastrami sandwich, which was quite juicy even with sauce on the side. Bathroom is pretty snug, but quite clean.
