What Ocho Pinos doesn't like about Cocobreeze Caribbean And Bakery:
I really wanted to like this place and support this business, I found it on an SF Eater site with 38 best places in the East Bay. But man, the curry goat we got was so salty I couldn't eat it, did no one try it when they made it? The oxtail was bland and the jerk chicken was dry. We spent maybe 95$ here and picked up food and drinks to go, but ended up having to go out somewhere else because this was disappointing. T... View all feedback.
The lamb burger was nicely seasoned and cooked to perfection, not overdone at all. The spicy jerk chicken wings had a good level of heat, along with plenty of sauce. The Jamaican patties were cooked well, but could benefit from a crispier exterior and a more savory flavor. Overall, everything was delicious!
The Curry Jackfruit with Veggie Rice was absolutely fantastic! I really appreciate the diverse flavors that CocoBreeze offers, and I always look forward to the lively atmosphere outside with all the seating available. Thank you, Chef Anna and the team, for another delicious meal. I'll definitely be back for more!
Oxtails was so tender they was FALLING OFF THE BONE FAT !!! Soooo good I caint lie ! The beans and rice complemented the oxtails the rice beans could apos;ve had a little more flavor tho but over all still good ! The beef Pattie apos;s was so good too coming back for
I had high hopes that this restaurant would become a new favorite, but as others have pointed out, the red beans and rice were lacking in seasoning and flavor. The oxtail had a decent meat-to-fat ratio, and I appreciated that the portion lasted me two days, especially since it is a bit pricey. Unfortunately, my plantains turned out soggy from the steam in the packaging. I wasn't particularly fond of the oxtail's flavor, and the gravy was excessively oily. I also tried to order a cupcake, but they had run out and instead provided me with a Mini Mango Turmeric Peach Cobbler, which I didn’t enjoy either. On a brighter note, the Matcha Blueberry Lemonade was excellent, and the beef patties stood out as the highlights of my meal.
The Curry Chicken Roti was very good. Mild on the heat/spice but still very tasty. Big chunks of chicken (be mindful its bone in chicken). The roti was large and so I had left over. Satisfied my craving for curry roti. I had to get an extra side of Deep Fried Plantains because those are just lucious.
