My partner and I met some friends here for a quick bite and drinks and we loved it. The key reasons to stop by:1. A diverse trap list full of delicious beers something for everyone.2. Awesome garlic and sweet potato fries.3. A quiet back patio with plenty of heaters if needed.Importantly for us, this place is also very bike friendly. They have a bike rack in the back of their patio in a protected place for you to loc... View all feedback.
What Jane Singh doesn't like about Cato's Ale House:
First time here. Nice vibe, perfect beer. Food is not that good. It looks better in the photos than taste. In my burger, everything was burnt, even French fries tasted bitter, like they turned the hit high to do everything fast :)Artichoke pizza was blend and tasteless.I might give it another try because the vibe is nice. Hopefully, next time, they give more attention to the food they serve View all feedback.
I found this restaurant to be a hidden treasure in the area, with a unique ambiance and a great variety of beers to choose from. The pub food is surprisingly tasty - be sure to sample the burgers, sandwiches, and pizza along with your beer.
This is an amazing local bar that serves draft beer from nearby breweries as well as others. It is a great place for families and the food is excellent. There was a change in the kitchen in 2019 that greatly improved the food quality. The double pizza slice is always delicious, and the new pizza introduced in 2019 is even better. The homemade potato chips are fantastic, especially in October 2022, and the portions are big enough to share. Be sure to inquire about the daily specials when you stop by.
I frequent this restaurant every week because they offer delicious food, great beer, affordable prices, and a welcoming staff.
Nice little neighborhood bar. Food was decent. Fried chicken sandwich was good. Pozole was a bit watery and light on flavor. Main issues were the lack of seats at the bar which leads to people just standing at/around the bar so those sitting can't really see the TV's. Also took about 25 minutes to get a slice of pizza. Drinks are very competitively priced for Oakland so that's a plus. Overall I liked it just some annoyances.
Cato's is conveniently located near my home, so I visit often. While they have a limited selection of vegan options, it's still better than many other restaurants in the area. I particularly appreciate their pricing and offerings compared to a nearby burger joint that charged $19 for an Impossible Burger without a vegan bun, requiring an additional $2. At Cato's, the Impossible Burger is $14 and comes with a vegan bun and spicy mayo, along with fries (which I usually swap for a side salad). Their Lemongrass Tofu Bahn Mi is also delicious, and they offer vegan chili, a falafel burger, and other vegan sides as well.
