I just had the most amazing meal at Casa Borinquena, and I can't wait to share my experience! The potato balls were seriously tasty, especially with that sauce they came with. And let's talk about the chicken skewer – it was packed with flavor and cooked just right. Oh, and the empanadas? They were nothing short of heavenly. To balance out all the richness, I tried the cucumber pineapple, and boy, was it a refreshing... View all feedback.
What Fae LeDawson doesn't like about Casa Borinqueña:
The prices were decent for this food hall, but I was underwhelmed by the food. The pastelillo has a fantastic flaky crust that wasn't too messy, and the vegan chicken was decent. However, the filling was mostly air. The relleno was perfectly crispy on the outside and had creamy dough below that. It was generously filled with impossible meat, but there wasn't much flavor unless I ate just the meat without crust or sau... View all feedback.
Can't say enough good things about Casa Borinquena. Great food and great service. Impossible items are fire!
This was the best food I've had in a while! (and I’m not vegan) We went a little crazy with our order, but finished everything! My favorite was the skewer sampler plate and pastellilo, but everything was just delicious. Nothing tasted like the other, which I admired, but went great together. Absolutely recommended!
The service was great! I wasn’t entirely sure about eating a meat substitute, but afterwards I’m glad I did, the bbq “chicken” was very good and texturally felt like chicken. The plate was great, although I think the rice could have had a little more seasoning and moisture. All in all, I would come back here again!
Def will go back !! We thought it was meat but it was all vegetarian food dishes , great taste and value friendly service ,
Delicious vegan Puerto Rican grub! The maduros, sweet plantains, are definitely one of my favorite foods I've eaten in San Francisco. The potato ball was yummy as well, but pass on the sauce for both. I also really liked the pinchas skewer. I thought the mofongo cups were a bit dry but enjoyed everything else I've had. Overall a unique find in a great venue- it's always chill at Saluhall.
