They make the simplest and the most classic Chinese buns and tea drinks. Always love their classic pineapple buns and red bean buns. Their milk tea fruit tea drinks are also simple and delicious. They don't try to make it look super fancy like many other newer cafes with cheese foam or torched crème brûlée etc... Simplest tastes the best View all feedback.
What nancy t doesn't like about Alice Street Bakery Café:
I had the curry chicken sandwich and potstickers. The potstickers were on the smaller side, but crispy and tasty. The sandwich was just meh. Nothing special. The service was very friendly though, so I'd come back and try another item on their menu. View all feedback.
The milk tea tastes like it was diluted with tap water, and the boba used is the cheap, mushy kind with zero flavor. Worst boba I've ever tried.
I dropped my boba drink outside (100% my fault) and the lady kindly made me another one free of charge. Really helped my day from being terrible, thank you!Great place to take kids for a quick after school snack. I love their sponge Swiss cake slices.
I had their fried shrimp burger with lime pineapple sauce. It was a nice hefty size. The thick shrimp patty was fried perfectly with a light and crispy crust and the buns were nicely crisped up on the griddle. Honestly pretty impressive and I definitely would come back for more. My only issue was that I picked the lime pineapple sauce out of about 8 sauce options at ordering and it was definitely the wrong choice. The sandwich probably would have met its potential with a stronger, umami rich sauce.
What a hidden gem.Their Asian style bread with different filling are wonderful. I especially like their bread with corn and ham. They also recently added sandwiches which reminds me the sandwiches I had in Asia.Their shrimp sandwich was fry with Japanese Tempura batter (if you like Tempura shrimp). You can choose different sauces to go with it. I highly recommend the fish or shrimp sandwich with lime sauce. Sooooo good!!
A popular sit-down bakery next to Lincoln Park and at the edge of Chinatown that has a wonderfully large sandwich menu. The shop has some comfortable seating but most patrons probably order take out. The boba tea is pretty good as well.
