Three of us had omelets and one had French toast.... read more Dory's Grill is the restaurant in the Holiday Inn in Oak Hill, WV. My friends and I went there for breakfast. Three of us had omelets and one had French toast. There was a buffet available (free for hotel guests), or you could order from the menu. My omelet was SO good the best one I've had out in a while. It wasn't overcooked, it wasn't dry. It came with a side of potatoes chunks that had been deep fried. They were delicious as well not greasy, crispy on the outside, tender on the inside. I had unsweetened iced tea. The tea tasted good, not old I am sometimes reluctant to order tea out because some places keep it too long but this was fresh and tasty. Our waitress was friendly, helpful, and attentive to a point. Sadly, the restaurant was understaffed to attend to the many customers out on this day. Our waitress and the one other I saw worked non stop to attend to all the customers. It seemed to take a long time to get our food. But when it came, it was wonderful. I imagine that if we had chosen the buffet, it would have been quicker, though I did see a line of customers waiting for items on the buffet once or twice. This understaffing is the reason for only 4 out of 5 stars. If you are in Oak Hill, WV for breakfast and have a little time, Dory's makes a great breakfast!

After waiting 45 minutes for our food, we received our appetizer at the s... read more We stopped here because we stayed over night at the Holiday Lodge during a snow storm. After waiting 45 minutes for our food, we received our appetizer at the same time as our meal. My husband was given the wrong meal (no problem, we're all human). He was informed that what he originally ordered was not available so he decided to just eat the ribs that were originally served to him in error. 20 minutes later he received his ribs. He then asked to have them to go since the rest of us were done eating. 15 minutes later we walked to the desk to ask for our bill and find out what happened to the ribs. The manager was kind enough to comp us for his meal. After all that we returned to our room and my husband said the ribs were terrible. To the waitress' credit she did apologize and was pleasant about the situation but I would not come back to this restaurant.

The hotel knew we had a group of 50+ people coming. The Prime Rib special was about the size of a dollar, 1/4 thick, as tough as rubber and had grill marks. It... read more The hotel knew we had a group of 50+ people coming. The Prime Rib special was about the size of a dollar, 1/4 thick, as tough as rubber and had grill marks. It took 1-1/2 hours to get our food. This not only happened to our table, but several other persons in our group experienced the same thing. One table ordered salmon. When they asked why it had taken so long they were told we had to go to the grocery store to get it . What??? Shame on you for not telling the table the item was not available. Instead they waited for over one hour while someone went shopping for them!

I ordered the ribs and the two other guys ordered a... read more Two friends and I were staying at the Holiday Lodge and Conference Center and went in to Dory's for dinner . I ordered the ribs and the two other guys ordered a pasta dish. My ribs were very good and plentiful. The other guys enjoyed their dinner also. I had draft beer to drink and it was cold and cheap 1.89 . My friends had wine and were impressed with our servers knowledge of the wine they served . Good friends , good food and great service makes for a very good night.
