The coffee... read more On a wet and cold day, we did the Latemarium nature walk from Oberholz. Half way along, we were delighted to find Mayerl Alm open and very welcoming. The coffee and strudel were great and staff very friendly the friendliest we found in all of the places we visited in the Dolomites.

More precisely t... read more Mayrl Alm is an example of how to use the development of winter and summer tourism to rebuild mountain farm in the thriving ski and hiking hut. More precisely to the chalet without accommodation, but which is well known for its South Tyrolean cuisine and its fresh, homemade cakes and apple fritters. No wonder that our hotel for its selected guests included in its weekly program gourmet lunch at this Alm. Mayrl Alm is situated at an altitude of 2050 meters below the mountain peaks of Latemar with great views.It can only be reached by foot from Obereggen, Oberholz or from Passo Feudo or Passo Pampeago. There is a self-service restaurant, a restaurant offering table service, a bar,a particularly sunny patio and a snow bar in the winter. Sanitary facilities are modern and clean. During our stay in Obereggen we visited this magical site several times and tasted some of the local specialties such as Tyrolean bacon, canederli,tortelloni and homemade cakes with forest fruits. Operation friendly, prices alpine. This place you can not miss during your wandering in the Latemar.

This means lu... read more I have been there several times while skiing at Ski Center Latemar. One of the main added value is the really large open space outside with table. This means lunch time is at sun. The best. You have few option for lunch. You cna book at restaurant. Meal was good, quality and fresh product. Wine list is not exhaustive but good enough. All in one price are good. You have a self which is also less costly and good. All in one the entire staff will alsways welcome you, really nice and ready to make you happy. What ever you will ask, you don't need to ask again. I really enjoyed our lunch at this place which is for me probably the best one....even if I also enjoyed the brand new Obberholz.
