My wife and I love Thai food and were not disappointed buy this restaurant. The meals are tasty, well presented and filling. The restaurant is only small but this add to the cosy and intimate feel. Prices are reasonable and they do a good take away trade. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Thai Chilli Bites:
I had lunch a few weeks ago and found it very ordinary in terms of quality of food. The service was great however the food was much to be desired. I ordered thai chilli fried rice and specifically asked for no sugar however it still came with sugar and too much salt. View all feedback.
I went to Thai Chilli Bites for dinner on Saturday and was glad to see that they were quite busy. I have noticed that since the new owners took over, the portion sizes have gotten smaller, but the food is usually good. Unfortunately, my meal last Saturday was very disappointing. I ordered the stir-fried prawns with young ginger for $19.90. There were only six prawns, and they tasted as if they had been treated with baking soda, which is typically used to tenderize chicken or beef, not prawns. I couldn't find any young ginger in the dish either. While I understand that ginger is currently expensive, the dish should have been removed from the menu if the ingredient was unavailable. If I decide to go back (and if the men in my family aren't as picky about taste), I will have to inquire about the use of baking soda in any dishes I may want to try, or stick to vegetarian options.
We have been dining at Thai Chilli Bites for several years now. The restaurant has undergone a change in management recently, resulting in smaller portions and slightly decreased quality of the food. During our last visit, we observed that there were fewer customers compared to before. It's disappointing because, overall, the food is still good, albeit with occasional lapses in service. It appears that they receive a lot of take-out orders, which may explain the decline in sit-down diners.
Pretty average meals. Decided to do a walk-in takeaway Saturday night. I observed there were no dine-ins, customers were all takeaways. Covid scan at entrance was not registering. They did not ask for my name nor recorded contact number. Waited 35mins for order to be completed. Honey chicken had an unusual taste. Beef Masadam was tasty and meat nicely cooked, but sauce too watery. Definitely takeaway standard as opposed to restaurant standard. Wouldn’t go back. I’ll make the effort to drive to Parramatta.
I also host my corporate events at this restaurant. They offer private catering and dinner parties on site. Chef Max makes the best ladna, fried rice, and fried ice cream.
This is a tiny restaurant hidden in a corner of the Northmead shopping centre, but Wow! Fabulous food at reasonable prices with very quick service. Staff are lovely and very helpful. I'm not a local, but visit there whenever I can. It's a good idea to book for peak times as it's always very busy, and tables are limited.
