Feedback
This restaurant offers a lovely curry meal with a range of different dishes recommended by regular customers. Some diners found the food sweet and not authentic, while others enjoyed both vegan and non-vegan options. The service was generally good, with some complaints about added tips on the bill. Overall, the Indian food was said to be consistently great, with special mention of the Balti curries. The naan bread was also highly praised, making it a gem for those looking for delicious and mild curries. Fast and efficient service was noted, making it a good option for dining in or ordering in.
What a gem! The curries were delicious and the naan bread was sensational. They were happy to make the curries mild too. A small selection of Nepalese beers too as well as kingfisher.
I’ve eaten a lot of sub continental food so was hoping for something special at Base Camp. There are all your favourites with generous portion sizes and great service. Between 10 of us we had a selection of traditional meals like lamb curry, vegetarian dishes, beef curry, tandoori, roti, rice, raita and more. Every meal had its own unique taste and although I’d call the flavours ‘Australianised’ it was still good. You can eat in or takeaway and the kitchen was doing a roaring trade with orders. So although not busy inside, the Uber eats were coming and going. Note: wheelchair accessible, disabled friendly, kid friendly, reasonable parking out the front as well as a tram stop.
This is British style Indian food so it tends to be sweeter and milder on spice unless you ask. The Eggplant curry is my all time favourite.
I visited this restaurant with some friends, who had a mix of vegan and non-vegan dietary preferences. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The vegan dishes were particularly delicious. I would definitely come back here again.
After hearing recommendations, we decided to try this restaurant. Despite being described as an English balti place, it didn't live up to expectations. We ordered three vegan mains, all of which were the same red color, resembling hair dye. The taste was overly sweet and sickly. Unfortunately, we won't be returning as there are more authentic places with better quality food nearby.
