Feedback
I visited this restaurant with some friends, who had a mix of vegan and non-vegan dietary preferences. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The vegan dishes were particularly delicious. I would definitely come back here again.
After hearing recommendations, we decided to try this restaurant. Despite being described as an English balti place, it didn't live up to expectations. We ordered three vegan mains, all of which were the same red color, resembling hair dye. The taste was overly sweet and sickly. Unfortunately, we won't be returning as there are more authentic places with better quality food nearby.
The restaurant had lovely decor and the staff were quick and helpful, providing an excellent experience in a charming setting. There were many vegan options and several vegetarian dishes that could be made vegan. I chose the onion rings as an appetizer and the vegan special, Tofu Tikka Masala, as my main dish. The rest of my group, who were omnivores, also enjoyed their meals. We all agreed that the food was delicious and plentiful. I even had leftovers to take home for breakfast the next day. We decided that next time, we would order dishes to share instead of individual meals. I highly recommend Base Camp Northcote for both casual and special occasions - I chose to celebrate my birthday there. The only downside was that with a group of 9, we felt a bit cramped, but we quickly forgot about that once the food arrived. Base Camp Northcote is a hidden gem that I'm sure will become a popular destination for many, as they cater to all dietary preferences and are willing to accommodate changes to dishes. It seems that nothing is too much trouble for them.
The samosas are absolutely delicious, and the korma is just as great. Always a flavorful experience!
