Great fun place to try different tequilas and interesting Mex beers. Food is tasty and service friendly, although can slow down when busy. We live nearby and is a go-to option for our family gatherings, the most recent being my daughter's birthday where they really looked after us. View all feedback.
What Hulda Connelly doesn't like about Far North:
Went to this "Establishment" with a group of 6. We had to choose a booking "timeslot" of 2 hours, which during our meal management told us was being reduced to 1.5hours instead to make room for other customers.Food was overpriced and the quality below what you'd get at Guzman Y Gonez, a FASTFOOD mexican restaurant. To top it off, when leaving (did i mention we had to leave early?) The manager on duty had the nerve to... View all feedback.
Really great food, top flight service and a nice vibe.
The Far North is a breath of fresh air tucked away upstairs in a small strip of shops in suburban north shore.
Duh, I think these guys have closedA long time agoI think it is now a Mexican restaurant, and not a very good one at that.
The service was good, but the atmosphere of the restaurant is under-whelming. The food is well presented and ok, but nothing special. Both the food and drinks are reasonably priced. The restaurant is for families, so be prepared for a little noise. We dined on the outside verandah, which also has an outside heater. As we were finishing our main meal, a family with a couple of young children was quite happy to send the children onto the verandah to play, regardless of other patrons. They banged on the tables like a drum and constantly jumped up and down on the timber verandah whilst their dad stood next the them, saying jump, jump, jump. The restaurant downstairs complained of the noise that the children were making. As soon as we had finished our meal, we decided to go inside to the bar, away from noisy children. It was then that I made my mistake by saying discretely to the dad that this is not a play area. I was then accosted by the children's mother and father, who had both drunk way too much, abusing and swearing at us for our intolerance, and wanting a fight. It works out that I was completely wrong by saying that the verandah was not a play area, whereby the Manager told me that he was quite happy for children to play anywhere in the restaurant and do whatever they wanted (short of jumping on the tables). So, if you want a dinner with atmosphere where you can get some peace to talk, this is not the place to be.
Never going back here again! They have times you have to be in and out by. Very overpriced for what it is and bad/rude service.
