Happy to call this my local pub, will be going there a lot under the new management, the menu is varied and the food is excellent. Good atmosphere and the seating has been upgraded to very comfortable View all feedback.
What Visitingtonight doesn't like about Le Bistro - The Union Hotel:
The roast chicken dinner was very poor quality/portion size. The dinner had been reheated so not sure when it had been originally preparation. The chicken had not been heated correctly. Hot on the outside, cool on the inside. The roast offered only pumpkin as a side and so had to pay $10 dollars extra for some tasteless peas, reheated roast carrots and sweetcorn. The gravy was presented in a small butter bowl and was... View all feedback.
The slowest service in the Western World! Absolutely pathetic. Looooong wait for very average food. Never again. Ever.
Great local sports bar centrally located North Shore and right on Pac Highway. Lots of drink selection. Clean and comfortable for a social catch up or quick drink after work. The food was lovely and different areas you can sit in. Service was great just found the beverage prices a bit high. Overall, it's a great place to catch up, watch a game or grab something to eat.
The buildings architecture and interior are curious to say the least. Has two function rooms on the upper floor both with outdoor courtyards. Has some kind of gaming/gambling area downstairs separate from the main bar, and a regular pub room also with an outdoor area. The bars have a good selection of domestic and craft beers. The food selection is pretty much limited to deep fried foods which are done competently. The service, especially the bar service is most excellent. The pub is notably popular with media creators, i.e. producers, broadcasters, and supporting tech staff/contractors. Has some quieter spots to discuss business. Good for technical society social events/functions and social business discussions. The official name of the place is The Union Hotel

The gravy was presented in a small butter bowl and was lumpy and not hot. This is a sports bar, so maybe just stick to drinks.
The Union is under new management and its soul has been destroyed. The interior is now dark and dingy, there is no internal courtyard for smokers who now have to go out onto the street or onto the balcony upstairs. It's noisy, full of hard furnishing and there is no ambiance. The food is shockingly bad, and overpriced for the quantity received, and any feedback is met with radio silence.
