Contrary to some reports we were welcomed with a smile when we visited for a quick bite on Friday lunchtime. Ambiance is relaxing except for the pervasive sound of the coffee machine; comfy chairs, reasonably spaced tables understated decor. We both had 'sausage buns ' with a late espresso. Sausages coffee were good quality, roll was a bit woolly. We looked longingly at the next table where they were tucking into an a... View all feedback.
We pop in for lunch when in the vicinity. There is a counter full of delicious looking home made cakes but we just need a lunch snack. There is a wide choice all freshly prepared in this very clean eatery. Everything delicious with very tasty coffee. Pleasant friendly service too.
I do not dare to say that but to be honest, I am there very often. Every 2 weeks certainly, if not once a week. they have very nice things in there. Everything is fresh, and staff very friendly and efficient.
I live in Scartho and have visited Florence's on several occasions. While the food is nice (delicious cakes! the staff, or at least half of them are completely unsuited to work in the hospitality sector. Rude and unwelcoming, it is unusual to get a smile. One or two of the staff are lovely but I do feel that there is a serious lack of customer service training. I understand that the cafe does not struggle for custom but surely that is no excuse for not welcoming the customers that are there? I won't be rushing back. There is a new cafe around the corner or the Rose and Crown on Louth Road, both provide a welcoming atmosphere. Such a shame.
I went with my friends for a lovely catch up, it was very busy but unfortunately the staff were less than helpful and a little rude, we asked twice if we could order our food and the member of staff say Yes of course, when I have a minute but I saw them serve other people who came in after us! They messed up our drinks order and didn 't know what was i our panini 's. We had to ask twice to order our cakes again not interested in our custom, will not be returning to this place.
We popped in for some lunch on our way home and having never been before we thought we’d give this place a try. It was busy so we thought this might be a good sign... The menu was basic, mainly sandwiches, wraps and buns with very few hot choices. Neither Of us wanted a large lunch so we ordered a vegetable soup each and two pots of tea. The drinks arrived quickly and were ok, but the cups are the type where you cannot pick them up solely by the handle without balancing the hot cup against your fingers...not practical or particularly easy to drink out or even pleasant. When the vegetable soup arrived it smelt ok and tasted ok, that was until I discovered it also had bits of pasta, baked beans and potato lurking inside! I would never have ordered vegetable soup had I known it wasn’t vegetable soup, and more a minestrone! Upon closer inspection it actually looked like tinned soup (and not a very good one! , that had had a few fresh vegetables and some extra flavouring thrown in it. I left all of my veg as I got fed up of trying to pick out pasta and beans I also left the white bread bun that accompanied it, as I only eat wholemeal bread and no choice option was was given. As we paid no one asked if our food was ok, and I would have said what I felt given that opportunity, so I’m writing this review instead. This cafe only takes cash as well so that was another inconvenience as I’d just used the last of my cash. Would not recommend and probably won’t return, £12 for soup that gave me indigestion and I only drank the liquid!
