read moreThe Old Vicarage in Derbyshire offers a serene dining experience with a solemn atmosphere that stands out from city restaurants. While some dishes like the Beetroot-Macaroon fell short, the Butternut Squash Veloute and St. George Mushrooms impressed. The spiced potato croquettes and haloumi main course were a pleasant surprise, and the classic dessert was beautifully presented. Despite unrefined service, the attentive staff, excellent food, and well-chosen wines make this a worthwhile visit. The highlight is the roast new season Scottish grouse, showcasing the unique flavors and creative presentation that make dining at The Old Vicarage a memorable experience.
