I bought a family takeover to collect their website, we brought it to home and realized objects missing, I called them to make them aware that the manager I can... read more I bought a family takeover to collect their website, we brought it to home and realized objects missing, I called them to make them aware that the manager I can either return to collect the missing items or they will. my details and give them to me for free at my next visit, I felt that this was not satisfactory, I had already paid for the items so that they would not be free, no offer of a refund. the manager was extremely rude and has just lost a loyal customer! it's a shame how eating is impeccable.

I asked if it was in order and told by an abrupt waiter that it was not gluten-free. there were gluten-free options, but nothing special. I was for grilled cod and salad. very disappointed was the fish covered with pfeffer, which I did not like and the salat leaves were bitter. the options were quite something and rice or something and salad. even my local chippie in south moton makes gluten-free cod and gluten-free chips, so it is not as if it were impossible. I just want to eat things that look like everyone else. to be fair, all the others enjoyed their fish and chips, but I won't be back.

Their service was outstanding, the whole place was very clean, well... read more Had a fish n chips supper with the family on Friday, and I'd recommend The Pelican any day! Their service was outstanding, the whole place was very clean, well run and with super bathrooms. There's also a disabled/mother and baby toilet on the ground floor. I chose Cod and Chips with mushy peas, and the batter was really tasty and light with just the right amount of crunch to it. Next time I'm in North Devon I'm definitely coming back for more! The grandchildren had generous portions but they enjoyed it so much they finished the lot.

We also eat here every few weeks and recently had a special birthday family event here. Fifteen of us made to feel special. Fish is so fresh, scampi too. Can't fault anything.
