I was pleasantly surprised to find such a thorough, dedicated vegan menu at a garden center! The portions are generous and the flavors are top-notch. They also cater to gluten-free needs. The atmosphere is welcoming and the selection is delectable. My sister is a regular here and she always raves about the vegan menu, so I decided to give it a try. I was blown away by the homemade burgers and the fresh, heavenly cake... View all feedback.
What LyntonLady doesn't like about St John's Garden Centre:
I ordered the salmon and broccoli quiche and regretted it at first bite. It was the worst quiche I’ve ever eaten and was dreadful. The pastry was soggy and the salmon, which appeared to be layered on the top, was dried out and burnt in places. Very disappointing and I will not be returning! View all feedback.
I visited the restaurant for a birthday cream tea, only to discover that there was only one scone left. When we asked the server if there were any scones set aside for the special cream tea advertised on the Perspex sign, we were told in a rude manner that once the scones are gone, they are gone. This was not the first time this had happened to us, and when we mentioned it, the server just brushed it off and mentioned that there were plenty of other cakes available. The lack of scones and poor customer service left us feeling put down. It seems like they should improve their stock management as the cream tea seems to be popular. In the end, we decided to go somewhere else.
I enjoy going to garden centers and this one exceeded my expectations. It had a diverse selection of plants and all the essentials. The farm shop was great for fresh eggs, with a variety of organic dairy and meat products. I also bought some reasonably priced, high-quality ice cream, pastries, and cheese.
It's a shame that dogs are not allowed in the cafe, especially since they are permitted in the garden center. It would be nice to be able to enjoy a coffee with our furry friends. Perhaps the cafe could designate a section for people who prefer not to be around dogs.
I was pleasantly surprised to discover a full vegan menu at this garden centre. The portions are generous and the prices are very reasonable. They also cater to gluten-free diets and are wheelchair accessible. The food selection is delicious, with my sister slowly working her way through the vegan menu and myself being impressed by the homemade burger. The cakes are fresh and delicious, and they even offer vegan coleslaw. Overall, a great dining experience.
