The Rising Sun in Lynmouth has received mixed reviews from customers. Some have found the food disappointing, with overcooked fish and pheasant, as well as high prices. However, others have praised the restaurant for its friendly bar staff and welcoming atmosphere. The Sunday lunches, homemade desserts, and special dishes like the Côte de boeuf have been particularly popular among visitors. The cozy ambiance, good service, and beautiful views of the harbor have also been noted as highlights. Despite some minor complaints about the toilets, overall the Rising Sun seems to be a popular choice for those looking for a great dining experience in Lynmouth.

Was Tracy Butler at Rising Sun a mag?
We didn't eat at the Rising Sun but but stopped off for drinks on the two evenings we stayed in Lynmouth. Very good selection of beers and nice to sit outside watching the boats in the harbour. View all feedback.
What Julie Furminger dislikes about Rising Sun:
We have eaten here a number of times. Sadly it has changed, its atmosphere is not as friendly as it used to be and they have young staff who lack in customer service….. it is a shame View all feedback.
Really fresh seafood. Plump salty oysters. Classic British decor. _Service was friendly and helpful__Everything you'd expect from a seaside quaint restaurant.
Celebrated my birthday here with the best and biggest fish and chipsWindow table looking out at the harbour.
A hidden gem in a very beautiful locationnot only the pub is a great place to stay and see the tide coming inbut the restaurant is just amazing.
I enjoyed the room but my goodness if you choose to eat here brace for a huge bill and really mediocre food. When I’d finished I said to the really nice waiter … ‘the food is really expensive … and he said, I know’. I really wonder who scored the food highly … it was pretty bad
As a single traveller I like to test places out on how they serve/treat you being on your own. Couldn't fault this place. Service from Scott, the barman, was very good. Made sure I was ok, enjoying my drink and food. Everyone that went in was made to feel welcome. Can definitely recommend the Exmoor burger!
