Their plates and takeout containers are are always overflowing with food. Their chicken balls are not dough balls, they actually have large pieces of chicken in them! View all feedback.
What Trish Cooke doesn't like about Manshou:
Food was plentiful, quick great service and clean restaurant. Only downfall is the food quality was definitely not up to the standards of the Pheonix or Green Appleicious. View all feedback.

We drove to the Nippising University to drop off our daughter. We wanted to have lunch so we came back to the town to grab some food. We happen to see the restuarant and walked in. The inside was ok not very fancy. The egg rolls we ordered had no eggs. The filling was only a lump of bean sprouts that looks so grey and disgusting. Then came the Shanghai Noodles which had a noodle looking like pad Thai. We had to pick the noodles from the bean sprouts because the dish consisted more bean sprouts than actual noodles. It looked so grey and the shrimp tasted so gross. The rice was sooo dry and hard and the veggies tasted like they were just mixed in the rice. The seseame chicken was ok. I will never go there again
With the number of positive reviews, we decided to give the dining room a try. This was a Tuesday evening at dinner time. There were two other tables being served besides us. The gentleman serving tables was very pleasant and was also looking after take out. We ordered several items off the menu mainly from their specialties section of the menu requesting no MSG. The portion sizes were generous. Vegetable Fried Rice Did not seem to actually be fried as we would expect, just essentially cooked rice mixed with vegetables and not too flavourful. Curried Chicken The sauce was fairly spicy but not too flavourful and the chicken tasted old maybe it was previously cooked. Did not taste like fresh chicken to us. Beef Lo Mein Fine rice noodles and bean sprouts and vegetables with fairly tough pieces of beef added to it. There didn 't seem to be any beef flavour in the noodles. The beef was quite chewy. General Tao Chicken The best dish we had. The chicken seemed like it was fresh with the right amount of deep fry dough, the pieces were hot, the sauce was tasty and nicely spicy. The onions and vegetables (unfortunately) were essentially raw and cold. Vegetables and Almonds Fairly good flavour wise just too much cornstarch or thickening agent. Also, our food was delivered sporadically between servicing take out orders. Even eating slowly, we ended up eating most of the Gen Tao Chicken before anything else arrived. Our preference would be Golden China take out after trying Manshou.
We ordered delivery to our hotel room. The chicken balls were the tastiest we've ever had.!! The chop suey was also soooo yummy. We will definitely order for here again when ever in North Bay. They just need to send some bigger paper plates.:
This evening my girlfriend and I ordered from here. We were skeptical because of a previous bad experience with another local restaurant. I 'm not the biggest fan of Chinese but my girlfriend loves it. I ordered the curry shrimp and I can tell you, it was the best curry I 've ever had. The flavours were excellent! We were both so satisfied! The only reason I 'm not giving a 5 star is because the rice in the dinner B that my girlfriend ordered was very bland. I highly recommend this place and only this place when ordering Chinese in Northbay.
