We had a work dinner for some educational discussion. GREAT atmosphere set back in the back, but not alone--perfect setting. Food and service were excellent. We will be back! Thank you! View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Manuel's Bread Cafe:
we were several times and always had good food and service; Apart from this time, we waited for more than 5 minutes in the entrance to the host before someone acknowledges our ingenuity, we had reservations. after we had set ourselves, we had a good service; there were tables. View all feedback.
Had a delicious dinner here. Nice table on the sidewalk. Poutine was exceptional.. Steak fries and chicken piccata entrees were both good.
Underwhelmed. Service was good, but food and presentation was adequate. Chef Special App was grilled pork belly which was very good. We both ordered the lamb to pair with a 2017 Mount Brave Cab Franc . I try to never add salt or pepper to a meal because as a former restaurant owner I find it disrespectful. I added salt and pepper to the lamb because frankly it was bland. The wine opened up and we enjoyed. And in the end we loved the Pecan Caramel Swirl cake. Wine list was a surprise. I will note we visited on a Monday.
Service was awesome and food was even better! I definitely recommend this place. What we ate for appetizers was the fried ravioli and I had the salmon burger. I would definitely go back if I ever come to Augusta!
The French onion soup is the best I’ve had and packed with flavor. The food in general was all delicious and portions weren’t small. While eating dinner we were already talking about what we wanted to try next time. Manuel’s is easily one of the best restaurants I’ve been to in our area. The staff was attentive and kind. We’ll definitely be going back. If you’re debating on checking this place out debate no more and make a reservation!
We started off with the smoked salmon platter, capers and a bagel with cream cheese and Dill mixed together which was very good. We also ordered a couple of bowls of French onion soup which were also very good. Our entrees consisted of pheasant which my two companions said we're very good and I had the breadcrumb encrusted flounder which had a slight sweetness to it and was excellent. We finished up with some coffee, which was old and cold not good, and a chocolate chip cheesecake which was very rich and sweet and the other cheesecake was a Butterfinger which was quite a bit lighter and less sweet than the chocolate chip. Both of them were very rich. We also drink a couple of bottles of the least expensive Merlot which was more than adequate for our simple tastes. Throw in some great conversations and a few hours later we left feeling very satisfied and new that we had had a great time. I would most definitely return once the piggy bank fills back up.
