Ray's Bbq - Norman
Ray's Bbq
Description
Ray’s BBQ in Norman offers a mixed but largely positive experience, celebrated for its tender ribs, flavorful brisket, and accommodating service. Many praise the smoky, juicy ribs and a friendly atmosphere that welcomes groups and families alike. Sides like collard greens and fried okra receive high marks, while the sweet tea is frequently enjoyed. Some critics note inconsistencies, particularly with dry brisket and overly sweet sauces, and occasional sogginess. Takeout is often reliable, and customer care stands out. Though prices lean higher, Ray’s remains a local staple with loyal fans and a warm, casual vibe perfect for BBQ lovers.

This is a 5 star bar b que. But I gave 3 stars because the last 5 times I have been in there is no sliced brisket. Daryl not sure what’s going on but the Moore location is not having this issue ??????
This place is a staple in Norman. Their brisket and ribs are legendary. My son eats a full rack of ribs by himself every time we eat there. Their customer service is outstanding. One time I arrived home and was missing one item from my take-out order and they brought it to my house! Definitely a family favorite for us!
We travel all over the southeast portion of the country we are working staying true to our carnivore diet.. so bbq places are our #1 places to hit everywhere we go. All in all it’s a blast trying different varieties of bbq it’s a real bummer when we stumble into a place that we basically B U R N $70!!! But it happens!! This is one of those places for sure!! Brisket…. For sure a NO GO!! Zero flavor “flakey”… Yes, your thoughts are correct!! The brisket cut, or fell apart as if you picked up a piece of grilled catfish. Not real sure how they accomplished this texture, but it’s B A D for brisket, flavor, no smoke OR dry rub flavor all. Need to go back to the drawing board on this one. The ribs… they were brisket, but with a bone. That’s honestly all I can say. Place was for sure a flop…
