There 's Chelinos....and then there is Chelinos in Norman. Un-freakin-believable service and food. The special salsa and roasted peppers and onions were phenomenal. What Aric Smith doesn't like about Chelino's Mexican:
the service was fantastic, but the food did not supply. we are a Mexican food-lovin family, but you could eat most of the gland we had in a time. the queen was thin and thin (either broth or water-based; no milk) and too much for quality. unfortunately we have set a big x here and will not be back. for this price there are much better Mexican restaurants to choose from in norman. Do not pick up what should be decent about kovid. they gave us old, burned, eating from lunch. lection learned not to order dinner before 5:30
Place was clean, eating was more tex next to mexiko. I prefer authentic Mexican food to an American version of it. if you want text, you will enjoy this place
Amazing! I and my man have just begun to come and we were reminded and greeted! they feel like home. the food and service is 100% great! drink them whenever I go, I have no reason, not! definitely my favourite restaurant!
So Good. A few years ago, this was one of the worst Chelino's. Our food was over cooked or sent out incorrectly. The restaurant seemed run down and neglected. We would actually drive back to OKC to our old neighborhood Chelino's rather than up the road from our new house in Norman. The past year or so, the building has gotten a face lift, the food is fresh and always good. The menu seems to have expanded to include many authentic dishes. I love chiliquiles and am so happy to have it on the menu. There's is fantastic! This is my favorite Mexican food in Norman and we go back time and time again.
Enough. I've only had weird service in this Chelino's location, and I agree with other reviews, there are too many pals, or off duty staff hanging around, literally making people feel uncomfortable. I think there are too many Chelino's locations and they've just stopped trying.
