Zippy's Kaimuki - Niu

Very slow service even with few customers. I had the beef stew mini plate. Very underwhelming lots of potatoes, three or four tiny chunks of beef. By tiny, I mean they were literally half inch squares. Zippy's used to be a good chain decades ago. I know that they have a central kitchen which serves their chain, because I had a cousin working there, so the quality of the food coming out of that central kitchen affects all the branches in their chain. As well as their brand of frozen food items. Since I now find their food no longer decent, it'll be the same no matter which location I go to. So I'm no longer a fan. I'll look to the smaller eateries with their own kitchens.

I just bought a chicken mushroom plate for $15.84 and I was totally disappointed onthe quality and food choice. Really! Is it that hard to cook and present fast food plate lunch?Totally unacceptable and not worth the price. I’ve withheld negative comments for awhile but Kaimuki deserves better!Don’t waste your money and go to Mccully or any other zippy than Kaimuki!

Walk in, placed an order for 2 plates. Was about 8 minutes. I would go again.

The food was good but everytime I order food I can never tell if I get watery rice or perfectly cooked riceI ordered a extra scoop of rice and it was extra watery

Love their chili but ouch it's getting expensive $8.10 for a large. Can't give it up.. Just can't go as much as I'd like.
