My husband enjoyed a taco salad and I had a burrito, both we good. If you go in mid-day, sit close to the bar because D is a one person show and she does it well ?? View all feedback.
What Carl Henry doesn't like about Jose's Mexican Cafe Cantina:
Stay away from this place; I don’t do review all the time but damn, this is the worse place I’ve ever eaten. Food is microwaved, taste horrible, server has no sense of customer service. Sanitation is OMG I have to report this place. View all feedback.

I don 't know if this place is still owned by the Martinez family. I worked at La Paloma on Kapiolani Blvd. a l-o-o-n-g time ago which was owned by José and Laura, the parents. I think their son ran José 's. I lived on 18th Avenue and ate here a couple of times, but the food wasn 't the same as La Paloma.La Paloma had a tortilla machine in a side room of the kitchen. Laura 's Chile Verde, Chile Rojo, Enchiladas Rancheras and New Mexico Style Enchiladas were to die for! I 've never figured out her recipe for the Ranchera sauce but I make Chile Verde all the time. I should have paid more attention.
Food is excellent!! Reasonable pricing.Wish they served Dr Pepper.Parking: 0.75 per hour. 2 hr maximum.
