Service is terrible. Very slow and don’t like tourist! Surprised how come they can even be Michelin restaurant. Food: 4 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 3 Price per person: €70–80
On our first night in Nice we came to the Le Canon restaurant by chance because it was very close to our hotel. Red Formica tables and grandmother's cutlery. The menu is written in chalk on a blackboard and the waiter explained it patiently. The dishes are made from local produce and the wine is natural wine. The atmosphere is pleasant. The food was absolutely wonderful. On our last night in Nice we booked a table in advance because we decided to come back to celebrate and enjoy this wonderful place. We also bought a bottle of natural wine to take home so that the pleasure would last longer. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
Excellent gourmet French cuisine. The whole dining experience was marvelous. Everything we ordered was wicked good.
This is an extremely popular restaurant that is relatively expensive and that many people adore but I am not sure why. We have only been once and we were very well looked after, particularly with regard to the choice of wine. However I could not...identify anything particularly special about the cooking. Although the menu exhaustively lists which suburb of Nice each ingredient hails from it is hard to understand the relevance as it doesn't make any significant difference to the end result. Where the cooking is simple as in some straightforward lamb the result is satisfactory. However, an extremely expensive St Pierre was disappointingly mistreated in its execution. For dessert the pavlova served was remarkably mundane. If the restaurant was less expensive we would be more impressed but from this visit we definitely prefer the local rivals .
