Our normal practice before eating out is to check TripAdvisor and then pick somewhere that has reasonable reviews. On this occasion we didn 't and decided to just look and see which places appeared okay and we paid the price. Service was slow and the staff uncommunicative, the onion soup was tasty (hence the review is rated poor rather then terrible but lukewarm at best, and the rib eye steaks were anything but, just... I tried stake and get thin slice of meat with no taste. Moussaka was ok, but can be better. The waiter was kind and fast but he work alone all day so he get confused.
We had a quick evening meal at La Stekia Restaurant on Avenue Massena La Pietonne . I had the escargot, goat cheese salad and a small slice of pizza. The escargot was tasty served with French bread and my goat cheese salad was excellent. Large pieces of melted goat cheese and pears over greens. My husband had a pizza and the crust was extra crispy and thin. I had a small slice and the cheeses and spices were excellent not to mention the anchovies. Wine was good a Chablis then a house red that was good with the escargot. Service was fast and our waiter helpful great place for a quick dinner or lunch. I would stop there again !
Ordered seafood Paella and grilled prawns and both meals were of really poor standard. Paella served with 1 prawn and 1 lagoustine, rice way over cooked and no flavour.Grilled shrimp served with soggy tasteless veg.Prawns in both meals NOT deveined! Poor service from waiter who spent more time on his cell phone the back of the restaurant than with his customers. Very disappointed with this restaurant after having 3 days off fantastic meals all over Nice. Avoid this restaurant at all costs .
This has been the worst experience of our vacation in this part of the French riviera !!! We were a family of five with three kids and went to this restaurant tonight. We had ordered two pizzas for the three kids and we adults wanted to eat later in the night after ordering some drinks !!! The welcome was missing and even after we make our way to the restaurant, the waiter came and almost threw the A’la carte and expected us to order immediately.... once we placed the order of two pizzas the old man seemed very irritated and said we have to order one dish per person that means that’s to enjoy the services in this restaurant, one needs to at least order one dish per person which may not be one’s requirement !!! Ultimately, we just showed ourselves out ... SO PL AVOID THIS RESTAURANT !!!!
Met gezin hier geweest om te eten. Salades waren lekker. Vlees was wat taai, en de kip was droog. Eten stond vlot op tafel. Bediening vriendelijk en spreekt Engels.
