It is not at 5 Place Marshall, so perha... read more This brasserie is located on Avenue Victor Hugo, less than a block from the major shopping center in Nice (Nice Etoile). It is not at 5 Place Marshall, so perhaps the other reviews shown here are not of the same restaurant. In any case, the food is fine, not gourmet, but plenty of it. The plat du jour is always a good choice. Desserts are varied and excellent. Service can be cold at times, but is more often with a nice smile and with good attention. There are many local business people who eat here and it can be crowded, but the tables on the covered terrace are generally not overly close together. I have eaten lunch here many times over the past few years and it seems to me that La Renaissance is becoming more popular, which indicates that they must be doing something right.
