A few cheese and meat "boards" two mains, a salad - sounds ok yes? Well tasty for sure, the setting is cozy, and the service was good. But I did not expect to part with 1/3rd of my weeks salary for a dinner out! I wanted to buy a bottle of sparkling wine and there was only two choices: One which was $77 and another $65.. really? We were charged for EVERYTHING including a cake serving fee (I made a tart for my husband... View all feedback.

We were charged for EVERYTHING including a cake serving fee (I made a tart for my husband's birthday, and thought it would be fun to have there, but not for such a cost!). If you are going to go here, go at lunch, and share a small cheese board. Seriously, it's a cheese place in Enmore - at the cost, you would think we were in the posh side of town!
We arrived just before 6pm only to be told there would be an hours wait for a table, we discussed it and said yes that would be fine and we would grab a drink at a near by wine bar. An hour and a half later we get a call saying they had a spot for us at the bar, but as there were three of us, and as we had already requested we asked how long for a table, we were told 15 mins. We wondered back up to find no, it would be another 15 mins, we questioned why were we told an hour if it was going to be 2 hours, they apologised at this time and said not much longer please bare with us. So we waited, another half an hour until finally we were given a table, to which for the rest of the night we copped a lot of attitude. The server came over and asked if we wanted some olives to start with, with how long we had waited I would have thought these would have been bought over to make up for this. NO!We started with a cheeseboard, and when it came out it had the slimmest of cheeses that you could possibly find, I couldnt get over how small it was. We ordered the mac cheese and the goat shoulder and whilst they were tasty they were nothing to write home about. Mid way through eating our mains we were then told if we wanted to order anything else to do it now as they were closing the kitchen. I was dumbfounded by this and politely declined this offer! What could have been a lovely dinner was really ruined by being lied to about how long the time wait would be and quite sub standard service.Highly doubt we will be back...
For a place that's usually packed out, its generally a good sign. We put our names down Saturday and wander off locally for a quick drink. Before we know it, we're in. For what can be a confronting menu for some, the staff aren't too keen to talk until you pull them aside and steal their attention from just being generally busy. Its an open kitchen adjacent to the bar, and such, the dining area forms an L-shape in the tiny space around all the action creating a welcoming level of energy. Once chatting, we're given some recommendation for charcuterie and cheese based on our first interests. Whilst we had a good mix, our end result seemed a little flat and bland as nothing really stood out between our choices. The fennel salami was pretty mild and light in terms of flavour. The Eskal Pickles were sweet and sharp alongside some of our cheeses and nduja. We had better success in the wine list and our waiter was nonchalantly passionate, leading into into a fascinating conversation about Malbec. Over more than a good hour here it easy to leave feeling heavier yet lighter in pocket. Great vibe for date night or a catch up with friends.
Be on time. I was early and had to wait. Service is good, and so is food. Tens of cheeses, selection of meats and wines. Recommend to sit at the bar so you can see them slicing cheeses and meats
