Loved the concept. Pick a steak then sides. Or order a burger. The steak was cooked perfectly , it was tender and tasty. I wish we ordered freshly cooked fries or sweet potatoes because our sides were a bit cold after sitting in a warmer , probably for a while. Meals came out quickly , not bad value for money View all feedback.

Great steaks but incredibly rude and unhelpful staff! Rang and abused us for being late on voicemail while we were eating our meal. We were right on time. No table service; waiter refused to get me salad dressing. Just because they serve good steaks no excuse to be rude and arrogant to customers. View all feedback.
Located in Newtown, this casual restaurant has a vibe reminiscent of a steakhouse or beer hall. With long tables and metal chairs, the layout may not be the most convenient but is perfect for a relaxed dining experience. Customers can choose their meat from the front counter, specify how they want it cooked, and select a sauce and side dish. While there is no table service, the staff behind the counter are friendly and helpful, especially with accommodating large groups. The waitresses who bring out the food may be a bit confused at times, but the steak is excellent and cooked to perfection as requested. All the sides are also delicious. The restaurant features a bar and overall has a positive atmosphere.
One of the best steaks in sydney! to go one of my favorite steak places. the sweet potatoes fries adds only to a great meal.Lamb skewers and a wagyu bark sausage are great if they want a bit of anything pork were amazing here many paints and always a great experience
I really like this place, I've been a couple of times now and the only thing that's disappointing is that they only have one register so it can take a while to order (you choose, order and pay and they bring it out to you). The decor is fairly typical new funky exposed beams and subway tiles with slogans and branding with wooden park tables with individual seats (similar formula for a lot of new places, in my book). The selection of meats is wide from rump, porterhouse, eye fillet, scotch fillet and T-bone and a good range of burgers as well. I've only had the steaks though. They have a 3 - 4 different salads to choose from which we've found delicious and the roast vegetables and/or roast potatoes are really tasty as well. The best thing though, are the way the steaks are cooked, which has always been spot on. The cuts are great and had no excess fat and certainly no sinew in them; everyone I've spoken to has said their steaks were cooked as they asked for. I've been to supposedly great steak places and they haven't been as good as here - I recommend this place but for mine, try to go slightly earlier or later than peak meal times.
Im a burger lover. First time i tried macelleria in bondi which is perfect and moist fatty burger. But when i tried macelleria newtown, the burgers are different. The patties gettin to small not even too small as a patties, its just way too small. I would call it a slider pattie! Really disappointing for that. And waiting time for 30minutes just for 2burgers?!
M A C E L L E R I A A magical place where YOU get to choose your steak and they cook it for you! The burgers are off the hook. Highly recommend the Classico Burger. The staff are really passionate about the quality of their food and really do take any feedback into consideration. ✌@foodiesguidetosydney
