A massive range of vegan food. Just about anything you could imagine from a 'fish ' and chip shop and then some. The food is excellent and really tasty. Friendly staff. View all feedback.
What Larry Heathcote doesn't like about Bliss & Chips:
I was so excited to try this place but as soon as I bit into my burger I wish I hadn't. I threw it out straight away. It was absolutely disgusting. Certainty won't be back View all feedback.
Just writing this review is making my mouth water...we had such a good meal here, it's one of my stand out memories of our holiday in Australia! The fish is absolutely superb, and the garlic prawns are to die for! I thoroughly recommend getting both!...My daughter had the seafood basket, which she loved, and my other kids had pluto pups, which they wolfed down! We washed it all down with lashings of gravy and finished it off with various desserts including deep fried ice-cream, chocolate bars and cookie dough. I hope the people of Newtown know how lucky they to have this fantastic restaurant on their doorstep, it's so unique and the food is sublime!
It was so nice to finally have a very good vegan Fish&Chips. Burgers, prawns, deep-fried desserts...everything was so amazing. We really enjoyed to have a couple of lunches here! Good job, guys!
We will be back. I had ‘the mother’ burger and it was the best burger I’ve ever had. My wife had the ‘chicken satay’ burger and loved it. The service was friendly and engaging. The spider drink and other drink options were great.
I was really craving a basic cheese burger, so when I discovered this place I was so excited to give it a try. I had the burger and with some fries. The burger itself was really nice and I enjoyed it, the fries also were...nice and crispy on the outside with a soft and fluffy inside. My only issue was the after affects of the MSG in the seasoning of the fries. When I had ordered I was told about this, but thought nothing of it, as I have eaten foods with Msg in the passed, however my body must have changed as it left me with a dry mouth and constant need for thirst afterwards. The service in this place is fantastic such nice and helpful people. I wanted to rate them higher, but it was only for the msg that I have given them an average rating. So if you do head on in there, please bear in mind this is comfort type food, and if you are having the fries, bear in mind the msg affect afterwards, they do offer a sea salt option. It is definitely worth giving a try especially if you are plant based and are craving this type of comfort food.
The friendly blonde haired lady served us actively and successfully up-sold us on food products. My partner and I ordered: fish chips, fish burger (gluten-free bun) and picked the choice option 1, seafood sauce and gravy, three mock prawns on...a skewer, two small bottles of water. Pros: 1. The food was very tasty and seemed fresh, 2. Quite quick food service, 3. Comfortable seating, 4. Music was pleasant. 5. Lunch meal cost was $50. Cons: 1. Received a terse response, when I asked what type of oil was used for frying. 2. Cotton Seed oil is one of the worst oils for one's health. 3. It is not good for weight loss. 4. We were not welcomed into the premise. 5. I felt bloated. In conclusion, while this place is a novelty, I will not be coming back due to the unhealthy frying oil.
