With the selling point of arcade machines and games, this little bar did not disappoint. They also offer some craft beer on tap, but mostly in bottles/cans. View all feedback.
What mrdom doesn't like about 1989 Kitchen & Arcade:
With the high drink prices, you'd think they could maintain the machines better. We did get unlimited games on one of the Time Crisis guns after they tried to fix the coin slot but the sights were off so it wasn't that great. View all feedback.
I hosted my birthday party at 1989 in early Dec 2021 and it was absolutely fantastic. its truly a one-of-a-kind venue in Sydney and we loved the 80s and 90s vibe of the bar. The arcade are a huge amount of fun and the bar had a great range of beers and spirits. The staff were excellent and couldn't do enough to ensure we had a great time. Benny, the owner is very responsive and great to deal with. Highly recommend for a function or even just pop in for a beer and game of Streetfighter 2! GET THERE
The only games we played all night were mind games with the staff! Having a beer here is like a torturous ride on rainbow road, fun at first but ultimately suicide inducing. Music kinda slaps but nothing can save this pile of hot garbage.
Cool place to experience a bit of vintage gaming. Service was meh. One of he bartenders felt like he got irritated with every single interaction. Some machines did not allow 2 players. Only one pinball. I will go back.
The place is only small, and it was very very busy when we arrived but somehow managed to snag a table big enough for 4. I love the concept and we had a lot of fun. It’s a good place to hang with friends.
