Goldengrove - Newham
Goldengrove
Description
This local eatery offers a dichotomy of experiences. While drinks and outdoor seating are frequently praised, the service journey is less consistent. Patrons report issues with rude staff, notably a manager, leading to discomfort and negative interactions. The food quality appears to vary, with highlights including an acclaimed British breakfast, though cleanliness concerns linger. Despite slower service at times, some visitors enjoy quick drink offerings and friendly staff interactions. Overall, while the food can impress, the service needs refinement for a more enjoyable dining experience, leaving some guests hopeful for improvements on their next visit.

This Wetherspoons pub is a great spot to visit before a match at the London Stadium. It is one of the few pubs that welcomes away fans as well. They offer very affordable pints, ranging from 3 to 4 pounds. The pub also has a charming garden area.
The Golden Grove in Stratford is a reliable choice for a good time, whether you're with friends or flying solo. Its spacious interior and ample room behind the bar ensure that even on busy nights, there's plenty of space for everyone. The staff are consistently friendly, adding to the welcoming atmosphere. While the food may not be gourmet, it meets the expected Wetherspoon standard, satisfying hunger without breaking the bank. While it may not have the most stunning aesthetics among Wetherspoons, its charm lies in its familiarity and the memories it holds for regular visitors. Having visited various Wetherspoons across the UK, the Golden Grove stands out as a sentimental favorite, thanks to its role as the backdrop for cherished experiences. Overall, the Golden Grove in Stratford may not be the most glamorous option, but its reliable service, spacious layout, and personal significance make it a beloved establishment for many.
Gone for a 9h beer shift. Nice outdoors, cheap as any other spoons. Just a very slow service, got me waiting over 40min for a pint which is unacceptable. Will come back though.
REVIEW I want to approach this from a different angle: looking at my fellow reviewers’ use of the English language (all of whom -by definition- have visited or continue to frequent Spoons), the question arises: how would anyone in their right mind want to frequent these pubs for any length of time anyway?? Top tip: by all means, visit for a quick, reasonably priced drink, BRIEFLY before a good night out. DO NOT, under any circumstances, tarry, particularly after dark…
