I always get the grilled octopus on the ro... read more We love Sol Mar and have been there multiple times. The staff are exceptional super nice and the food is outstanding. I always get the grilled octopus on the roof tile and although it said market price, it was less expensive than a lot of the entrées. One point I would make is that they try to give you cheese and sausage bread for the table and you think it’s free but they end up charging you for it. Not a lot of money but I think it’s a little bit sneaky. I’ve learned to say no thank you. And also it’s not that good. But our party of 10 had a wonderful time. Oh and the Sangria is awesome. We got red.

Service was outstanding- always there when we wanted Ramon, but never intrusive or rushed. Love the wine list. Overall one of my go to Portuguese places in Newark as it consistently delivers.
