Pulaski Bbq - Newark
Pulaski Bbq
Description
Nestled in Newark, this bustling barbecue restaurant has a reputation for its flavorful yellow rice and juicy BBQ chicken. Diners rave about the generous portions and crispy fries, making it a go-to spot for casual eats. However, service has been a recurring concern, with reports of slow wait times and language barriers complicating orders. While some patrons have faced disappointments with specific dishes like dry chicken or partially burnt ribs, loyal regulars appreciate the friendly staff and the nurturing atmosphere. Overall, the restaurant's charm and hearty offerings keep many returning for more, despite some service hiccups.

Very poor service. I called at 8 PM, two hours before closing, and was told that the kitchen stayed open until 9:15 PM. I arrived at 8:15 PM, and the employees were busy cleaning. I sat down, but no one brought me any glasses. After a while, I was asked if I wanted to eat, so we requested the menu. By the time we placed our order, it was 8:30 PM when a rude girl returned to tell me that the kitchen had closed. The only options available were chicken and ribs. After I ordered the only things they had, the staff continued cleaning and raising dust while we tried to eat. I've known this place since it opened, and it has seriously declined in service. I do not recommend it anymore.
The restaurant has a lovely interior, but it can get quite hot and uncomfortable; they should really turn on the air conditioning or increase its power a bit. The yellow rice, fries, and chicken are excellent. However, the pork ribs were partially burnt and dry, though the rest of the meat was juicy and well-seasoned. The portion sizes are very generous—enough to satisfy 2 or 3 people. Overall, I recommend this restaurant!
I always have a fantastic experience here! The chicken is incredibly tasty, and the fries are consistently fresh. The staff is always polite and happy to answer any questions I have about the menu. Whenever I get the chance to eat here, I take it!
I have been a regular at this location for years, as I work nearby. Out of all the options for fresh barbecue chicken, this is my absolute favorite spot. I feel a personal connection with the staff, who always recognize and greet me when I visit. I understand the pressure they face during busy times, so I never let it bother me. It's a small establishment that serves fresh food, and their French fries are the best around. If you love shoestring fries, this is the place to be. They specialize in chicken and ribs, so come and experience the best Newark has to offer!
