What Ronalds Kalniņš likes about Wa Jeal:
My wife and I had a great meal there last night. We started with a half order of Peking Duck. Then, sesame noodles which were excellent. Roasted prawns in chili peppers was superb. View all feedback. What MarleneB doesn't like about Wa Jeal:
Choose the restaurant because they had a 1/2 Peking Duck on the menu. We were very disappointed; the duck was very dry and not tasty. It was served with very thin pancakes, not the traditional thicker ones and the plum sauce was too tangy. read moreWa Jeal is a Chinese restaurant on the Upper East Side that has received mixed reviews. While some diners found the food inedible and the service lacking, others raved about their best Chinese food experience ever. The menu is extensive, with both familiar dishes and unique options. The restaurant is known for its solid food quality, though some feel that certain dishes could use more spice or vegetables. Overall, Wa Jeal offers a quiet dining experience with beautifully prepared and tasty dishes, making it a recommended spot for fans of fine Chinese cuisine.
Quick but unhurried service and each dish exactly as we had hoped!
Very good service and a huge menu I will certainly go again. The prices are very reasonable
