My wife and I had a great meal there last night. We started with a half order of Peking Duck. Then, sesame noodles which were excellent. Roasted prawns in chili peppers was superb. View all feedback.
What MarleneB doesn't like about Wa Jeal:
Choose the restaurant because they had a 1/2 Peking Duck on the menu. We were very disappointed; the duck was very dry and not tasty. It was served with very thin pancakes, not the traditional thicker ones and the plum sauce was too tangy. The other dishes were beef with shitake mushroom, (the mushrooms were reconstituted, not fresh mushroom) and Grand Mariner shrimp, just O.K, the breading was soggy. The spareribs w... Quick but unhurried service and each dish exactly as we had hoped!
Very good service and a huge menu I will certainly go again. The prices are very reasonable
We had a large party. The service was great and the food was perfect.
Service was slow, then food came out within 5 minutes of soup and dumplings being served. Food good. Not the usual v good. Fish in chili sauce a little too breaded. Will be back though
Wa Jeal is our go-to for Chinese food on the upper east side. Always fresh and delicious and excellent service.
