While some guests experienced issues with water damage and poor service, others found the staff accommodating and the rooms clean and comfortable. Although the hotel lacks basic services like a restaurant, bar, or room service, guests appreciate the value for the price, especially considering the ongoing renovations. Overall, while the hotel may not have all the bells and whistles of neighboring properties, the incredible park views and friendly staff make it a solid choice for a stay in NYC.
We had a wonderful experience during our recent weekend stay at the Park Lane Hotel. The location was fantastic, the rooms were spacious and clean, and the staff was friendly. Despite being a 3 star hotel, we found it to be great value for the money, especially considering the lower price for a room with a Central Park view compared to neighboring hotels like the Ritz or JW Marriott. While the building itself is old and reminiscent of the 1970's, we were informed that the hotel is currently undergoing renovations. Despite some negative reviews we had seen online, we decided to go ahead with our reservation based on my wife's previous positive experience at the hotel. We were not disappointed and had a terrific stay. We would definitely consider staying at the Park Lane Hotel again if we return to NYC.
They emailed me the night before leaving for my weeklong stay here that the AC in park-facing views for which I’d obviously paid extra was not working. There is no coffee available in the room or in the lobby or via room service. And now there is construction noise that they can’t appear to stop. We adopted 1 hotel across the street for coffee. It’s a lovely boutique hotel with excellent coffee. Worth checking out. As to the park lane, you might wait till construction is complete.
Unbeatable location for significantly less than the nicer properties on same street. Bathrooms are pedestrian and rooms could use update but as is, it’s worth every penny for location. Spend a couple extra bucks and get a higher floor. View of Central Park is great but we stayed much higher floor last time and it’s an even more impressive view ten floors higher
A few years ago, we had a great experience staying at this restaurant. We received a promotional email with a good rate so we decided to stay from June 4-6. However, when we arrived, it was clear that they were not fully prepared for guests. Despite mentioning renovations on their website, there was no mention of the lack of bar, coffee, or food services. The rooms were missing basic necessities like bar soap and vanity kits, and there were several other issues. The only positive aspect of our stay was the friendly and accommodating staff.
Our room, 2001, has serious water damage in the corner by the window. The entire carpet corner is saturated in water. They would not put us in another room. They came and put towels over it and a fan down so now I have no chair for the view. There is NO night light for bathroom, just a huge bright light so when u go to the bathroom in the night or morning your eyes hurt. These rooms are seriously outdated. The room, decor, carpet, lights are old, like from the 80's. Of all the hotels I've stayed at on this strip, this is the worst. No restaurant or bar, no room service.
