What JohnM doesn't like about Tessa:
Tessa has been completely irresponsible during the pandemic. I live in the neighborhood and I have seen tables smashed together and patrons drinking without eating....all in violation of city and state directives. I loved this place pre-COVID. Seeing how irresponsible they have been over the last few months, I cannot in good faith recommend them as an establishment. View all feedback. What User likes about Tessa:
Perfect for a casual dinner with mostly great food. Best appetizers were the cauliflower fritto and the burrata. For entrees, the duck was delicious and the side order of shaved brussels sprouts for the table was divine. Noise level was a little higher than I like, but tables in the back where we sat are a little less noisy View all feedback.

read moreDespite its classy ambiance and excellent service, Tessa has been criticized for irresponsible behavior during the pandemic, leading to a lack of recommendations from some patrons. While the food lacked seasoning for some, others found it worth the price, especially enjoying the flatbread appetizer and dips. Desserts were disappointing to some due to being overpriced and dense. The restaurant has been both praised as one of the top establishments on the Upper West Side and criticized for a disappointing experience caused by a lack of space and personal service. Despite mixed feedback, Tessa is recommended for its Mediterranean cuisine and friendly staff.
