Wow. Just WOW. Find a reservation and just go. I had the pleasure of visiting Sushi Nakazawa while I was spending some time in NYC. I got a seat at the lounge counter, which had a sushi chef preparing the sushi in-front of you. The sushi chef was incredibly friendly and the sushi had some of the best fish I have ever had. after I dreamed of sushi and the fact that nakazawa now has a star, my expectations in this meal we go very high. while many pieces were tasty, there are for the price better Omakasen experiences in the city. extraordinary love for detail lacks. moths fly around the bar and ikea cabinetry take away what should be a refined experience. the publicity in the presse seems to draw tourists rather than local regular. Incredible experience! It was delicious. Must visit for Japanese food lovers. The best sushi me and my friend ever had. Will back definitely.
Great service, even better food. The best sushi in New York easily, if not America. Try it at least once and it will change your perspective on food entirely.
After watching Jiro dreams of sushi and the fact that Nakazawa now has a star, my expectations going into this meal we’re very high. While many pieces were tasty, for the price there are better omakase experiences in the city. Exceptional attention to detail is lacking. Moths flying around the bar and Ikea cabinetry take away from what should be a refined experience. The publicly in the press seems to draw tourists rather than local regulars.
Took my girlfriend here for her birthday and it was fantastic. Everything from the food to the ambiance was fantastic. Can’t recommend Sushi Nakazawa enough.
Our 50th bdays celebration was well noted. We got some extra uní and bday candles in our lychee sorbet! Missed Nakazawa San, but didn’t expect to see him on a Monday. A great special occasion place that spoils sushi eating anywhere else.
