Went there for breakfast/brunch and it was one of our highlights of our NY trip! What a treat! The place is very nicely decorated, the atmosphere is cosy, classy and relaxed at the same time. The food was delicious, full of flavours. Indian food with a modern/American twist such as the peanut butter and nutella French toast. Indian families are privatising rooms there for private functions which is the only guarantee... View all feedback.
What Lia Aufderhar doesn't like about Pondicheri Cafe:
I visited here for lunch on Friday. It was somewhat empty when we first arrived around noon but the place filled up pretty quickly. I think the service could have been better since we weren't sure who was our waiter and it took them quite long to get our order and bring our checks. . I ordered chicken naanwich with desi fries. It was definitely a new kind of taste for me. The naanwich and fries were somewhat spicy. T... View all feedback.
This Indian inspired cuisine is a must try for food lovers. Colorful and tasty food. Very different but with a tinge of known feeling. The quantities were really really good. I mean one meal can be eaten by two people(almost). The ambience is good too. The prices are reasonable. They experimented south Indian traditional food with a twist and it is a success I feel. Try their drinks, they’re are different and adventurous a bit. Hard to find a good quality Indian authentic restaurant in downtown nyc and this is a gem.
I can't praise this restaurant enough. It's an Indian fusion restaurant with incredibly tasty and mouth-watering food options. Personally, I found some of the dishes too spicy for my liking, but everyone else seemed to handle the spice level just fine. If you have a low tolerance for spice like me, I recommend requesting milder spice levels when you order. The restaurant is spacious, so you'll likely have no trouble finding a table. The atmosphere and vibe are fantastic, and the staff is very friendly. I highly recommend this place.
I had an amazing experience at Pondicheri this afternoon. I started with appetizers including Kale Pakora Chaat, Pomegranate Pani Puri, and Khandvi. For the main course, I enjoyed a Lamb Kheema Morning Thali, Chicken Frankie with House fries, and Goat Bheja Masala. The spice levels were just right and the food was absolutely delicious. To end the meal, I had Sindhi Ladoo, Parle G Crack Ball, Besan Cardamom Mithai, and a scoop of Housemade Malai Ice cream. I hope that the quality of food and service remains consistent in the future.
