I wanted to escape the Herald Square crowd and managed to find this gem in the process. What first strikes you about this place is how aesthetically beautiful it is. It feels like a mix between a 1920s American bistro and what I would imagine the dinning room in the Titanic would have been like. br/ br/ The wine selection here is fantastic. What Kary doesn't like about Petit Poulet:
The atmosphere at the restaurant was a bit odd, with few customers until 7:30pm and an abundance of staff on the floor. Situated next to a hotel, it attracted many patrons holding business meetings or working on laptops. The music could have been more lively to improve the subdued ambiance. We are visiting from Honolulu Hawaii so was so happy when my husband's friends recommended this place.
Came here for brunch, it was pretty much empty I got the french omelette- nothing memorable.
Arrived first out of a party of four and a kind gentleman seated me right away.
We were in Milwaukee for a convention and noticed that Pier 106 was the only seafood restaurant around so decided to give it a try. Its right on the Riverwalk so a great location especially for those who like to sit outside (we didn't). We had great service and our meal was very good. We enjoyed an appetizer of mussels & clams which had white sauce over them - sauce reminded me of New England clam chowder - very different than what we expected but delicious. I had the stuffed salmon as my entrée and my husband had the ahi tuna - both dishes were very good. I'd recommend Pier 106 to anyone visiting Milwaukee.
I have loved this restaurant any other time I've gone, but, for downtown dining, the food was outright terrible. All three of us HATED the food, and it's unfortunate that I place I've highly regarded in the past could serve such horrendous food. Extremely disappointing and a giant waste of money and time.
