We had a wonderful experience. The staff was exceptional, and the comedians were hilarious.

I really enjoy attending shows at this venue. We arrived about an hour early in hopes of snagging four last-minute tickets to see our favorite comedians, and fortunately, we managed to get in! However, the staff outside were a bit short-tempered, which caused some stress and confusion for my group, especially since we had some family visiting from out of town. Once we were seated, though, we had a fantastic time. It's clear that the comedians use this venue to try out new material, but that didn’t detract too much from our enjoyment. Overall, I highly recommend this place as one of the top three locations to experience comedy in NYC, so definitely go if you have the opportunity!

The experience at the comedy cellar was definitely not the cheapest, with a cover charge and a minimum order of two items, but it was incredibly fun and made for a fantastic night. We're planning to return soon for another show. The lineup of comedians is a bit of a gamble—you never know who will be performing and how they'll fare that night—but we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. It's essential to book your tickets well in advance as the standby line is mostly turned away. If you do have a reservation, arriving early allows you to choose your seating. You can opt for a seat close to the stage, which might lead to some playful banter from the comedians, or sit further back if you prefer to avoid that. A heads-up: you'll likely be asked to place your phone or smartwatch in a sealed pouch that you'll keep with you during the show in order to prevent photography, meaning you'll be unable to use your device at all while the show is on.

I've been to the Comedy Cellar several times and the comedy sets and food are well worth it. Even without accounting for the $10-$15 ticket, the food is very well portioned and tasty with good cocktails to pair with. At FBP I recommend the beef and chicken yakitori skewers, onion rings, and the Passion and Heat cocktail.

I was really sad to learn that UCB New York had closed and has not reopened as of Dec 2023. But I really enjoyed our time at Comedy Cellar Fat Black Pussycat. 5 of the 6 comedians were really funny including the host. I’d definitely go back.
