A long-standing favorite in the Lower East Side/East Village, this small family-run business is one of the few neighborhood spots still open for business. With a kitchen full of love, you can order anything and be sure it will be delicious. I'm thrilled that they have reopened and I highly recommend a visit. View all feedback.
What RoovackaShishkabab doesn't like about Downtown Bakery:
I'm surprised this place has such good ratings. I got a burrito and it was not great, some of the chicken inside was cold. I would rate it a little below average. The portions are big though and it's relatively cheap. View all feedback.
Simply the best Mexican place in nyc. extremely cheap prices and delicious authentic food. can not recommend this place enough!
The location is in a sketchy part of the city. but glad we could try this place. the portions are a decent size, and they can serve their own salsa at their salsa bar in the back. it is not cheap, but I would come back for their good Mexican food
The tacos were great! but the guacamole was subpared and made into a cream I found cheating. I ordered tears and drilling that had never come, I was eating. then they wanted to ask me for the tear and the buzz, remind them that they never served me. then the kerl apologised to say someone else, took my order, which was not true, when only two people worked there all the time. the type at the front and a chef at the back. it's just cash when they dive.
I drove to the weekend to nyc and was happy enough to find this place to breakfast, got three different burritos and they were excellent! in serious, can not say enough good thing about the taste. absolutely delicious
Super low key vibes at this incredible Mexican spot. Highly recommend
