During a recent visit, my friend ordered a drink that they initially claimed they didn't have, then later said they did. After finishing our meal, the drink still hadn't arrived. When we inquired, the waiter informed us they actually didn't have it. To our surprise, the drink was included on the bill. After pointing this out, instead of providing a corrected bill, the waiter suggested we deduct $5 from the total amount. This experience was truly unbelievable and a first for us.
I came to this restaurant in the morning with an open mind about what to eat. I decided to try their soy sauce fried noodles and steamed sticky rice. The food was good overall, but the noodles were a bit too saucy for my liking. I found myself frequently sipping on my delicious milk tea to balance out the flavors. The service is where they could use some improvement. It took them about 15-20 minutes to take my order, even though the restaurant was not busy. I had to flag down a staff member to get my check since no one came to check if I needed anything else or if I was finished with my meal. I would consider coming back, but perhaps not during breakfast hours.
This morning, my mom and I visited this restaurant for an early breakfast on Sunday around 9 am. We were seated promptly. However, we found it odd that our waiter only provided us with two napkins, one set of chopsticks, a fork, and a knife for both of us to share. ??lol?? This unusual service practice aside, the food was delicious, fresh, and reasonably priced. Overall, it would have been a 5-star rating if not for the strange utensil situation.
Beyond good comfort food. Nice service and quick serving.
CA$H ONLY. Is the food to die for? No. But will the food satisfy your cravings for classic Hong Kong breakfast snacks and milk tea? Yes. I don't come here to be wowed. I just want my comforting spam egg noodles and condensed milk toast. And the service is good.
